Bird Management
Pest Birds may cause major issues for businesses and industrial / commercial properties.
Birds have the ability to spread of diseases and attractant for pests including ticks, cockroaches and rodents whilst their droppings are unsightly and have the ability to become serious public health risk.
Coming into contact (even by passing by bird droppings can spread diseases such as psittacosis (ornithosis) histoplasmosis and cryptococcosis.
We will tailor your bird management plan to the specific requirement of the bird species.
The process begins with an on-site assessment, followed by putting forward a proposal for what we believe would be the correct system of reducing or eliminating the issue.
Some of the options are (but are not limited to):
- Exclusion via netting or ozone systems
- Spikes
- Trapping
- Shooting
Possum Management
There are many restrictions and legal requirements which must be followed for possum control in Queensland.
We will carry out a site inspection and complete a Risk Assessment taking into account the areas (i.e. roof void) and specific site hazards and environmental factors. Once this is completed, we will inspect the property to identify possum activity and access points.
From inspection findings, we will advise you of options for possum proofing and/or possum removal requirements.
If you wish to relocate in your property, we can provide you with a Possum Box to give the possums a new home.
Fire Ants
If you suspect you have Fire Ants, call Queensland – Biosecurity Queensland 13 25 23
Under the Biosecurity Act 2014 and landholders must report suspected sightings of fire ants on their property to Biosecurity Queensland within 24 hours.
We do not recommend the client treating the nest as this often results in the ants evacuating the queen, and the colony moving. Your safety is also at risk as fire ants are very aggressive and swarm when their nest is disturbed.
As a qualified Biosecurity Queensland Pest Management Officer we are licenced and qualified to destroy fire ant nests.
