We work with our clients to gain management over webbing spider problems, it is recommended to clients that doing some of the following things will assist with the management process:
Eliminate Harbourages and reduce food sources.
Webbing spiders will use all kinds of things to support webbing. The webbing is how they catch their food. By removing items around the building where spiders can hide and construct their webs assists in reducing numbers of spiders around the building.
Spiders will generally hide in concealed areas that are dry and come out to feed at night when there are less predators and more food.
- Discard any items such as bricks, rubbish and timber.
- Regularly brush down webbing from around the building. However, we recommend that all webbing is left intact for at least 14 days after any chemical treatment.
- Install yellow coloured bulbs to outdoor and sensor lights as these will not attract flying insects at night that would otherwise provide a food source for spiders.
