To help reduce the risk of active termites bridging or breaching chemical treated areas the following things should be done:
- Do not build garden beds over or to weepholes, keep slab edge exposed by at least 75mm
- If an extension or renovation is built, ensure that the Termite Management System is installed.
- Regularly inspect the landscaping for infestations.
- Regularly inspect the perimeter for signs of breaching of any termite management system.
- Do not disturb chemically treated soil or place items such as mulch over treated areas.
- Maintain annual termite inspections to Australian Standards at a minimum of 12 months.
